Juliet would not have been forced to take such drastic action if she simply communicated with her family. Ultimately, Juliet, her mother and her father needed to sit down and have a nice long talk.
I believe that if Juliet was always up front with her parents about dating Romeo, she would have been in a worse situation, and things would have turned out much uglier. If she did tell her parents about it they would have punished her very harshly. Juliet knew that dating Romeo was crazy, and if her parents did know she would have been punished. After seeing how her dad reacted when she confessed that she didn't want to marry Paris, you could understand why she was scared of telling him about Romeo. It was good of her to at least tell Nurse about what she was doing, so if she ever got into trouble, someone would know what was going on.

PRATICE ESSAY
William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, is over 42 years old, yet still relates to a wide audience, in particular teenagers living in the year of 2010. Throughout the play, younger generations would have difficulties understanding some of the text and language as much of it is written in old English. This is one of the most significant things about the play which teenagers in today’s society will not be able to relate to. Nevertheless, many teenagers would have success in being able to relate substantially to the many relevant factors of the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. The movie expresses scenes clearer, which will allow teenagers to develop a clearer understanding.
Teenagers living in today’s society live and speak very differently to what the older generations are used to and know so well. Because teenagers have grown up in a world full of technology, which has managed to developed further as they grow up, they have picked up a different language. Facebook, MSN, Twitter, MySpace, and Texting, have all created a language of it’s own. Younger generations don’t know any different from this slang’ language which they currently use. However, when they are introduced to the olden day English language, they struggle to comprehend something’s, but use their imagination and knowledge to break these words down and understand what is occurring in the play. Such quotes from the play are very difficult to work out, such as "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" (act one scene 5). This is something that teenagers in today’s society would not say. If this was said in modern language, it would be something along the lines of “My heart didn’t love til now, I never saw beauty til this night.” Even though this is the translated language, it is still rare that a teenager would speak this way, as it is very poetic.
The fact that many themes and happenings in the play are still relevant to things that may be happening in today’s teenager’s lives lets them relate to the storyline of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. they understand what is happening. Even though many quotes are difficult to comprehend for teenagers, they still can relate to them. "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love And I'll no longer be a Capulet" (Act two scene two). This reflects on Juliet being scared about admitting her love for Romeo to her family, as she is scared to tell them that Romeo is a Montague, because she knows that their families are great rivals. Many teenagers will be able to relate to this, as their parents may struggle to accept whom they are dating. This includes them having to do things like Romeo and Juliet did, such as sneaking around behind peoples backs, keeping secrets from family and friends, and disobeying and disrespecting her parents wishes and commands.
The most recent version of the movie, the Bazloman version, makes it even easier for teenagers to be able to relate to the play. The play is much easier for younger generations to understand and comprehend. Because it is being acted out, audiences can get a greater understanding of what is happening. For many typical teenage boys living in the year of 2010, they will be able to relate themselves to the feud between the Capulet’s and Montague’s. The boys start trouble in the community by causing a ruckus. The boys fight both verbally ad physically, and get them selves into trouble. Even tho this was a long time ago, and some things may be different in the play, teenage boys in 2010 will still be able to relate to this and like the action packed scenes. Romeo and Juliet is a very romantic play which teenage girls love. Teenage years are around the time when girls will start falling for boys. It is very common that girls fall for troublemakers, who get themselves in trouble. This can also be related to the play, as Juliet knows that Romeo is trouble and shouldn’t fall for him, yet she cant help herself.
Although the play may be difficult for teenagers in 2010 to comprehend, there are many significant themes, which they can easily relate to. The fact that they are being mischievous and sneaky is very relevant to teenagers in 2010. Both teenage boys and girls can relate to many scenes in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet because many of the themes explored are similar and can be related to the struggles facing teenagers in 2010.

This statememnt is very true. In the play "Romeo and Juliet" Romeo is expressed as an extremely emotional character. At 16 years of age, he is young and makes irresponcibal decisions. When Romeo is introduced to the film, he is represented as a very negative and depressed character. Because of his mood, and feelings, which at that stage was love for Rosaline, and experincing she didn't love him back. His friends and family noticed he was acting strange. He would be out late an night time, and appear home in early hours of the morning. "Tut, I have lost myself, I am not here, This is not Romeo, he's some other where" (Act 1, Scene 1, Line 189-190). This is Romeo telling Benvolio about his depression after not being loved back by Rosaline. After Romeo falls in love with Juliet, his emotion is influenced by his emotion, and he wishes to marry Juliet, despite the short amout of time which they have known eachother. He puts himself at risk by involving himself with Juliet. Their relationship is such a risk because they are such great enemies. Because Romeos love for Juliet so strong, it leads him to make bad decisions. In the end of the play, this results in him taking his life beacuse he doesn't want to live without Juliet. He believes that there is no point living without her love. If he hadn't made such a sudden decision based on his instant mood and emotion, he would have thought longer and harder about the concequences, and maybe decided that it was selfish to take his life, for Juliet. He didn't think of how it would affect his friends and loved ones. He made an instant decision based on his emotions. This is the type of carless and immature decisions which Romeo makes.
Respect your elders
Because the Capulet family is of such high social status, they run of a very traditional lifestyle. This means Juliet is expected to treat the elders in her family in a high classed manner. Their family is relatively religious as well which gives her another reason to be respectful towards their parents and elder influences in their life.

I hate having to keep this a secret. I know Jack is my true love, there is no one else i would rather be with. I can't handle keeping this all in side tho, I am not on of those people. I need to tell people things, talk about it a lot, and get attention. If only I could erase one day, everything could be perfect... The day the war broke out. Ever since that one day, the worst day in my life, our family's have hated each other. My parents have turned everyone against them, My bestfriend will not even accept them, despite my love for Jack. I know if my parents ever found out about us, I would be kicked out. I have to lie to my bestfriend about it now because she got angry and threatend ending our friendship over it. As far as shes concearned, we are over. I'm so over sneaking around behind peoples back though. I just wish there was something I could to to allow my family and friends to accept me being with him. Each day which goes by I feel so guilty for having to lie to everyone.

CHARACTER PROFILES
Romeo is a very open minded character. He expresses his feelings very openly. His relationship with his cousin Benvolio is very close. Romeo is a very well know character, after all the play is named after him and his love who comes into character later on in the play (Juliet). When Romeo meets Juliet, he shows no hesitations in expressing to her exactley what his feelings tell him. He is very demandful in his wishes. He knows Juliet is the love of his life, and wishes to marry her.
BENVOLIO:
He is very precautious. In act 1 scene 1, it is shown where he steps into a fight to break the disagreement up. "Part, fools! Put up your swords. You know not what you do." He has a very close relation ship with his younger cousin Romeo, who he often expresses his feelings too. In the play, he is shown to be a much loved character. His personality is what makes him so attached to by the audience, as he is such an easygoing young man. His main role in the play is represented as a peace maker whos company is enjoyed by most characters.
JULIET:
Juliet is a much loved character in the play. She experiences the feeling of love at first sight, when she first lays eyes on her Husband, Romeo. She is very open when she expresses her feelings towards him, and does not hold back in saying what she wishes. She isn't concerned by her family conflicts getting in the way of her realationship, but secretly she hates disobeying her parents wishes and comands. Her father see's Paris as her ideal future Husband, but Juliet leaves him thinking this will one day happen because she is scared to brake the news to him.

1. Outline the subject matter of the poem?
This poem/song is about two young lovers. They were young and fell in love at first sight. They had little time to spend together, which is similar to the play "Romeo and Juliette"
2. Why is the poem entitled “Love Story”? Use evidence from the lyrics to support the titles significance and relevance.
It is a simple title with a great deal of meaning. The song is about a love story and what happens during their relationship. The obvious quote... "It's a love story, baby, just say yes" is the key give away about the love song.
3. Describe the relationship between the two characters. Who are they?
The characters are based around what was suggesting to be herself (Taylor Swift) and her lover who is being reffered to as 'Romeo'. They had fallen in love with eachother which was at first sight. They want to be together but because of some complecations it becomes difficult. This is also much like the story from the play "Romeo and Juliette"
4. What evidence is there to suggest that these lovers have to overcome obstacles in their relationship?
There are complecatins and obsticals in the relationship which the two lovers have to face and over come if they wish to stay together and be happy. She faces the harsh trouth of the fact that her father does not want her to be seeing him. And if she wishes to see him it will have to be behing his back...
5. What themes and issues are explored in the lyrics and through the video clip?
The fact that the parents of both lovers do not learn to accept them being together. Because of this, they face greater complecations.
6. How does the “Love story” end for Romeo and Juliet in the song? Is this how it ends for the Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet? Why does Taylor Swift end her song this way? What perspective is she writing from and why would they want the story to end this way?
In the video clip for love story, it ends where Romeo asks for Juliette to marry him. The father and parents learn to accrpt the fact that they are both deeply in love.

Dear Diary
Not only do I have do go, Miranda is pressuring me to tell Emily myself, she will hate me, and probably never forgive me. She wont understand that I didn't have a choice.
I hate what I have become, I didn’t want things to turn out like this. I know if I do go, which is my only choice, I will make the situation so much worse, not only between me and Emily, but also between Nate, and all my friends who I can tell, are beginning to hate what I have become.
I feel pressured into going after my fight with Nate. I need this time away from our relationship, but if I go, I know I will never forgive myself for doing that to Emily.
I should have a night to sleep on it…
Love Andy xx
Dear Diary
I have had the worst week in my life, I mean, this is totally out of the blue, I didn’t even see Andy as a threat, and she was always loyal to me. I bet this was all a game, she had planned this all along… what else am I supposed to think? It’s not supposed to be like this.
I feel embarrassed for Miranda, I mean… what does she see in Andy? Her fashion style ‘was’ appalling, and she is so immature, I don’t know why she even hired her in the first place, but that, I coped with, now I am just so mad. If I had never helped her in the first place, she would be fired already, and I would still be going to Paris… If only I could take back time :(
I will get revenge….
Love always… xoxo — Emily!

Atticus' influence
Do you think that the trial would have followed the same type of course?
Do you think that Mayella and Bob Ewell would have been treated differently in the court room?
Do you think the trial would have gone ahead? (Think about the lead up to the trial and how Atticus has to sit in front of the jail during the night)
If the trial did go ahead, do you think that the jury would have taken so long to make its decision?
Do you think the people in Maycomb County would have payed so much attention to the trial if Atticus was not defending Tom?

The reward that the hero was given was very valuable. It would allow the hero to continue protecting the less fortunate.

To Kill A Mocking-Bird

It is written by Harper Lee, and was released in 1960.The plot and characters are loosely based on the author's observations of her family and neighbors, as well as on an event that occurred near her hometown in 1936, when she was 10 years old (Wikepedia).

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD – WEBSEARCH
Dear Pen Pal, 5/6/34
I am so thankful to have you to write to, you seem to be the only 'white' that cares about me.
Not only are my family and I suffering from poor living conditions, we have to put up with being discriminated. My Mother, Father, two Brothers, and I, live in only a two bedroom house, with no electricity, no appliances, and a small amount of furniture. We cannot leave the house feeling accepted, as we walk down the streets, we get stared at by the 'Whites' and they call out names and make us feel helpless. Mum is full time working for a 'White' family in the higher classed part of town. Dad is also a slave. My brothers and I only see Mum and Dad for a few hours at night before we go off to our stone cold beds. Waking up is the hardest part of the day, because the hardest is still to come. We know we will experience being discriminated again, just like always. My Brothers and I all get very restless at home, and love being able to go out and play in the park, something you would be able to do everyday, but for us, it’s not that easy. The parks are very restricted; most of them have access for 'Whites' only. If we did go to a park where we were allowed, we would only be abused and discriminated, and forced to leave. So whilst we are at home, we play games in the house, but now that my brothers are getting older, they don’t like to play with me as much. My favorite thing to do, is play with my one toy which I have had since I was 3, my doll, which is pretty much fallen apart.

Questions for Poetry Circles:
I have choosen the song, "Where is the love" By the Black Eyed Peas!
1. How does this poem make you feel? What emotions do you feel when you read it?
When i listen to the lyrics, i am greatful that a song like this has been written because it has very strong and meaningful lyrics that give the message that all we need in the world is peace for it to be a better place.
2. What is the poem about?
The poem exxplains that there is no reason for people to fight and if we solved the issue of people fighting the world would learn to love eachother, and get along, and that no one knows where the love has gone since anger and fighting has been demonstrated.
3. List some of the descriptive words the poet uses and explain why they are effective.
The lyrics "Madness is what you demonstrate, And that's exactly how anger works and operates, Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight, Take control of your mind and meditate, Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all" These lyrics are effective because they explain that if people start doing the right thing, maybe others will follow and do the right thing also.
4. Why do you think the poet wrote this poem? What was he/she trying to achieve?
I think the poet wrote this poem to gert the message across that there is no reason that people hate eachother, and if everyone tried, and people looked, we could find the love that has been lost. Because people are selfish, and guilty, and compeditive, there has been an anger and line of betrayal rose, and the world has started fighting, countrys have formed wars, and families have broken. There is a different matter of what has caused the fighting, but the same situation is happening, there is fighting in the world over something that can either be really big or so small.
5. Write down your favourite line/lines from the poem. Explain why you picked them."
"Where is the love?" is my favourite quote from the lyrics, because it is really meaningful even though it is only a few short words, it can really make people stop and think.6. Does this poem rhyme?
The poem/song " where is the love"" by the black eyed peas rhymes, and this is one of the reasons that it is so effective, and people remember the lyrics.
7. If the poem rhymes how do you think this adds to the overall effect of the poem?
Because the poem rhymes, it makes it more effective, as it can appeal to a larger range of audience because it has been formed into a song, and it is easy to sing along to, with the genre of an easy singing rap/R&B.
8. Had you ever seen/heard this poem before? If yes, when/where?
Yes i heard this poem many times before, it is a very old, but common song by a famous band called the black eyed peas. This song has been very big, and has been on the radio for years.

Poem on war:
Thursday, January 28, 2010
Writing task - week one.
Today, we suffered another day hiding in the addic at home, the sound of gun and bomb droppings are getting louder and more frequent.
I am so terrified that soon they will be getting so close to our home and my family and friends will be at greter risk. I dont even understand what all the fighting is about, it is all out of controll, and just hurting innocent people who have done absolutley nothing wrong.
I dont sleep well anymore because i am always so scared that the morning will never come. I pray for the day that will come, and the war will stop and i can be free to escape from here, see the light, and run free, play with my friends, and just breath the fresh air.
